Miniature Icons by Evgeny Baranov

Here are some of the most astounding miniature icons I have seen.  They are made by a Russian artisan named Evgeny Baranov who is also a very good goldsmith as you will see below.   These pictures were taken from his facebook page.  I have been trying to get a short interview with some more details, and my lack of Russian seems to stand in the way…  but really, the work stands on its own.

    Vraiment étonnant. Quel est le support de ces merveilles et quelle technique de peinture ? Quelle finition? On les croierai vitrifiées.Quelque soit les réponses félicitations pour le créateur de ces petites (ou grandes) merveilles.Et merci à Jonathan qui nous les fait découvrir.

      Il est difficile de savoir la technique. En effet on dirait que c’est comme de l’émail sur une surface métalique, mais je ne suis pas certain. Merci pour le commentaire.
